Senator Bayer announces support for Carlson as her successor, following her decision to not seek re-election
LANSING, Mich. - Today, Senator Rosemary Bayer announced her endorsement of Sean Carlson to succeed her in representing Senate district 13 in Oakland County. Bayer, who has served in the Michigan Senate since 2019, has represented many areas of Oakland County, after her district was changed following redistricting in 2021.
"I am proud to endorse Sean Carlson as the next state Senator to represent our community in Lansing," said Bayer. “Throughout his decades of public service to our community, state, and country, Sean has shown time and again that he has the leadership, integrity, and commitment to fight for all of us. Now more than ever, Lansing needs proven leaders like Sean Carlson. I look forward to doing everything I can to support his candidacy.”
Carlson, a lifetime Michigander and longtime public servant, expressed his gratitude for Bayer’s endorsement.
“I am truly honored to receive Senator Bayer’s endorsement,” Carlson said. “She has served our community tirelessly in the state legislature and I look forward to continuing her legacy of public service and commitment to our communities here in Oakland County.”
Bayer’s endorsement adds significant weight to Carlson’s campaign, as she is widely respected for her years of dedicated public service in the Michigan Senate and advocacy on behalf of her constituents.
